The Session
The primary modalities I offer are Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy and Myofascial Release, incorporating Visceral and Neural Manipulation techniques. My sessions are usually a combination of:
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy assists the nervous system come back into balance after disruptions caused by injury, stress, or trauma.
Myofascial Release helps release painful restrictions in fascial tissue due to posture, surgery, muscular-skeletal imbalances, or trauma.
Visceral Manipulation helps the body release restrictions and unhealthy compensations in internal organs and related structures that cause pain and dysfunction,
Neural Manipulation helps release local nerve restrictions that impact the whole body.
As a therapist, I hold space for the intelligence of your body to move towards health. I slow down, listen, and follow your tissue. Sometimes there is more “doing” on my part; other times I simply hold the stillness. There is a consciousness that is deeply felt in this work, and I like to think of it as your all-knowing and completely healthy nature healing what got in the way of health. In this fashion, the most important ingredient I offer you is my presence.
Since I have received the Reiki attunements, Reiki energy is always part of my sessions. Rei and ki are two Japanese words that mean "universal life-force energy." This energy is transferred from a Reiki Master to a student through an attunement or initiation process. Being attuned to Reiki gives one the ability to access this universal life-force energy for the purposes of healing a living organism or situation, and this can be across time and space. Once attuned, the Reiki energy remains with the practitioner for the remainder of his or her life.
